Is the Library giving away solar eclipse glasses?

On August 21, 2017, we will be treated to the first total eclipse of the sun visible in the continental United States in almost 40 years.

Answer

The 2024 Solar Eclipse will be on Monday, April 8, 2024. Although St. Charles County will not be in the complete totality zone, we will reach about 90% totality. The Library will have eclipse glasses on hand at all eleven branches and the Bookmobile to give out to our patrons, while supplies last, beginning Friday, March 1, 2024. To ensure as many people in our community as possible receive a pair of glasses, we will limit one pair per patron.
