Why didn't the Library purchase the book I suggested?
Answer
Materials are selected according to the needs and demands of the community, in line with the budget. Factors considered include:
- collection philosphy
- collection composition
- popular demand, both existing and anticipated
- public interest
- enduring value
- community relevance
- diversity of viewpoint
Titles not selected for purchase may still be available to borrow through our MOBIUS or Interlibrary Loan services. Reciprocal lending is also available with other area libraries.
