Can my child come to the library alone?

Answer

According to Library policy, “Children under the age of 10, and persons of any age with mental, physical, or emotional needs that require supervision, must be accompanied and adequately supervised by a parent/guardian or responsible adult caregiver age 18 or older."

Per Policy c298 when any public school in St. Charles County has a full or partial day of school, the following is required prior to 5 pm: 1) any child under 16 must be accompanied by an adult or 2) the guardian of any child between 10 and 16 must fill out an online form allowing their child to attend the Library unaccompanied.
